Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a system of integrative medicine that entails the stimulation of specific points on the body, with hair thin, disposable needles. Modern research shows that acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins, serotonin, and other neurotransmitters that promote circulation and hormonal balance as well as reduce pain and inflammation.

Acupuncture is successful at alleviating and eliminating symptoms, but more importantly it can treat the underlying cause to improve the patient’s overall quality of life. Every acupuncture treatment is individualized to the patients unique needs, therefore no two treatments are alike.

Initial visits are 90 minutes in length, consisting of a complete intake to address your current treatment needs, a review of your medical history and an acupuncture treatment.

Follow-up visits, which are 60 minutes in length, will focus on your main complaint and consist of questions regarding any changes you might have felt since your last treatment while also considering any new concerns you may have.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine uses plants and natural substances for therapy or medicinal purposes. Herbal medicine treats the underlying causes of illness rather than individual symptoms. Once a patient’s specific needs have been assessed, a custom designed formula is created for the patient.

Both initial and follow up herbal consultations can be scheduled as a stand alone session or can be incorporated into your acupuncture treatment session.
